Traffic Regulations

Exercise caution at gates, crossings, and turnings.

Comply with Checks and Searches of personnel, vehicles and material upon entering and leaving restricted areas.

Park vehicles only in designated areas.

 

Don’t exceed the speed limit of 30 or 50 km/h.

Don’t park vehicles on jetties, wharves or roads (strictly prohibited).

Don’t drive while intoxicated (strictly prohibited).

Security, Photography, Smoking & Contraband

Smoke only in areas earmarked as Smoking Zones.

Properly extinguish and dispose off lit matches and cigarette butts.

Report any illegal or suspicious activity.

 

Don’t take photographs or videos inside naval premises (strictly prohibited).

Don’t smoke inside naval premises other than in designated Smoking Zones.

Don’t carry or possess alcoholic drinks, knives, weapons or any kind of intoxicating narcotics (e.g., hemp, ganja, opium).

Don’t traffic or possess illegal drugs, unauthorized software, biological, chemical, radioactive products or specimens.

Bus Transportation

Stand in a queue while boarding or getting down.

Keep noise levels low (use headphones for media).

Keep personal belongings secure and on your person.

Use designated stops for boarding and exiting.

Follow instructions of the driver/ conductor.

Report any suspicious activity or unattended items.

Keep your head and limbs inside the bus at all times.

Be polite and courteous to other passengers.

 

Don’t push or rush while boarding or getting down.

Don’t block the doors or aisles.

Don’t reserve seats unnecessarily with bags.

Don’t lean out of the window or put your head/ hands outside.

Don’t argue with drivers or co-passengers.

Don’t vandalise seats, windows or equipment.

Don’t smoke inside the bus.

Ferry Transportation

Arrive early and follow boarding instructions.

Embark/ Disembark with care, ensuring proper handhold/ foothold.

Wear a life jacket when instructed or in rough weather.

Follow safety announcements and signage.

Locate emergency exits and life-saving equipment.

Stay seated or hold on to railings during movement.

Dispose off waste properly.

Assist others if needed in an emergency.

Follow instructions of crew at all times.

 

Don’t rush/ push during embarkation and disembarkation.

Do not run on the deck (it can be slippery).

Don’t lean on railings/ guardrails.

Don’t tamper with safety equipment.

Don’t throw anything overboard.

Don’t panic during emergencies - stay calm and follow crew directions.

Don’t smoke while onboard.

Don’t go to the Engine Room or any other unauthorized compartment.

Waterfront Security (Anchorage Area)

Be Vigilant at all times

Report any suspicious activity to designated Control Ship.

Ensure all security personnel are well trained (Personnel Training).

Implement 100% MARPOL compliance.

Follow International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea when in doubt.

 

Don’t neglect maintenance of security equipment (cameras, communication systems, vessels).

Don’t lower any Boat/ Craft at anchorage without prior approval from the designated Control Ship.

Don’t undertake any kind of Jamming of RF Signals.

Don’t light up any lights or flash lights except for anchoring lights (due to security state).

Don't Fire any pyrotechnic.

Advisory on Sim Cards

  • Please purchase SIM cards only from authorised stalls set up at Landing Point and Reception Centres.

  • A copy of your Passport/ Official Certificate would be required as 'Proof of Identity' for purchase of SIM cards.

  • Please contact Help Desk at Reception Centre for assistance.

Note on Marine Traffic at Visakhapatnam Harbour:

Visakhapatnam harbour handles a variety of traffic, including:-
  • Cargo Vessels:

    Container Ships, Multi-Cargo Vessels, Bulk Carriers (for iron ore, coal), and Tankers (for petroleum/ liquids).

  • Fishing Vessels:

    Mechanised and Small Craft/ Sail Craft, operate from the adjacent Fishing Harbour.

Access Control and Patrols:

  • Department of Fisheries and Visakhapatnam Port Authority have been informed for strict enforcement of access control to anchorage areas by fishing boats during IFR & MILAN 26.

  • Indian Naval units will undertake 24x7 patrolling of the Review Anchorage Area (RAA).

  • A Water Ambulance will be at standby at all times; contact designated Control Ship if in need of any assistance.
